Major spam incident
Unfortunately I had to take the site down for a few hours this evening while dealing with a major automated spam outbreak. Over the course of about 40 minutes, 200 new accounts were successfully created (despite the use of reCapcha and StopForumSpam checks) and between them spawned about 600 forum topics and person/product/copyright pages.
I have cleaned up the mess and blocked the responsible accounts, but to reduce the continuing flow I have had to increase the use of reCapcha, which is now required for login. I apologise for the inconvenience (though once you're logged in your token should remain valid so you shouldn't need to do this every time). Unfortunately such measures seem to be necessary because of those few reprobates who would spoil things for the rest of us.
