First of all, I have to say how impressed I was with the packaging of the game. Most small-ish companies just send the disk in a little plastic envelope or something, but this game came in its own box, with inlay card and everything. But that doesn't really have anything to do with the actual game so on we go...
CCC (or so I'll call it to save a bit of space) is a management game. You take the role of a manager of a team of cyclists in a bid to win the league championship, and maybe the individual cyclists championship for one of your team. At the start of the game you select a rider from a list of names, each individual rider having his own skill rating and wage. Then you type in the team's name etc., and move on to the main game. Basically, all you do is decide whether to spend money fixing up each rider's bike and how much training to do, which means that a very shallow game is the result.
The whole thing is well layed out, and has a little sequence where little UDG riders move along a screen, but it's all M0DE 1, or certainly appears to be so. The game doesn't make much use of the graphics or other capabilities of the SAM, and could easily have been converted straight from the Spectrum.
So while there wasn't actually anything wrong with it, it just wasn't big enough to get stuck into, and after one season the game restarts, destroying any chance of getting involved in things. It's a bit too easy as well, the only reason I didn't complete it on my first game was because I picked expensive riders and ran out of money.
Sorry, but I can't recommend this to anybody, especially devoted management fans (like myself).
