This is a standalone player for SAA1099 music, released initially in 1998 and with latest update in 2002. It consists of a Z80 emulator and SAA1099 soundchip emulator (Search: “SAAEmu”) , itself powered by SAASound. SamPlay is capable of running on Windows or DOS systems.
Last updated 07/12/2002, confirmed as still working under Windows 10 with SAASound 3.4.0.
Trivia
The website contains a notice to avoid upgrading to the "latest 3.0.1.0 version" of the SAASound Windows dll, but that is not the latest version. It is unknown what the corruption refers to or whether this has been fixed in subsequent versions of SAASound but testing under Window 10 with 3.4.0 shows no obvious issues.
